SOWING NATIVE PERENNIALS (completed)

  • Benevolence Orchard & Gardens (map)

In recent decades, insect populations have plummeted, and insect-eating birds are also at risk.  Native plants provide ideal habitat for these animals, while most non-native plants fall far short.  By growing native plants, we help to protect pollinators, songbirds, and a wide variety of other creatures.  Since many native plant seeds require a period of cold before they'll germinate, we'll sow wildflowers and shrubs in containers and discuss providing cold conditions to promote sprouting.  Species we'll sow during the class include; penstemons, rabbitbrush, milkweed and others, all meant to be taken home to grow.

Limited to 20 people.

Class investment | $25.00 | Click here to sign up and reserve your spot!

We hope you can join us. While we need to function as a business, we never want money to be the reason why someone can't benefit from what we offer. If you truly can't afford the cost, we invite you to email us, and we have a limited number of scholarships available.
