HOW SOILS WORK: BASICS AND MICROBIOLOGY (completed)

By understanding what's going on in the soil, we can make choices that will lead to better plant growth, more subsurface water storage, improved wildlife habitat, and carbon sequestration.

Please note this class offering will have 2 sessions! Come for the morning, afternoon, or both.

Morning Session | 10:00 am. - 12:00 p.m.

In the morning, we'll look at different soil types and learn about soil texture and structure, nutrient storage and availability, and interactions between soil and precipitation.

Afternoon Session | 1:00 p.m - 3:00 p.m.

In the afternoon, we'll make microscope slides, examine them for bacteria, fungi, and other microbes, discussing their roles in soil ecology and supporting plant growth

Limited to 20 ppl per session
